However, we firmly believe that “someone’s tool is someone else’s weapon“. It is obvious, for example, that any administrator of an online store wants a fully automated workflow: the customer places an order after being informed in advance about the most suitable product, thanks to an integrated payment system he will automatically pay for the products, which will be delivered to the desired address.


But what happens if we have blind trust in this flow(without continuous functionality & security tests), and because of a bug or a vulnerability, the customer will be able to order a huge number of products with the nominal price of $2000, at a price of $20, without any analysis of an anomaly being automatically detected to stop the processing of malicious orders? The financial impact can be devastating, and the reputation impact would be almost irreparable.

Thus, for a software project to reach its full potential, it is at least as important what happens outside the software component itself: automated testing, maintenance, updates, manual and automated assessments of the product’s security posture/ service, risk management are all extra steps, but of fundamental importance to the smooth running of your service, digital product and business.
